Like the best stories, the story begins in 1621 when the building opened its doors to the religious community of the Poor Clares.

The convent was built by the Master Builder of the era, Simón González, thanks to Doña Catalina de Cabrera, an important Cartagena woman who contributed 2,500 pesos and her garden.
